Square Golf launch monitor: specs, sim support, and room needs

The Square Golf connects natively to GSPro and E6 Connect, two of the mainstream simulator platforms, with no additional Square subscription, which is a genuine cost advantage over units that gate third-party sim behind a paid tier. It also has its own app with 12 courses out of the box.

The camera design is the real story for a home setup. Because a photometric unit sits beside the ball rather than behind it, it fits a shallower room than a radar monitor, which is often the deciding factor in a tight garage. The trade is that the Home Edition is indoor only: direct sunlight can damage the cameras, so it is not the unit to carry to the range. It also does not report club head speed or smash factor, unlike some radar competitors.

As a camera unit, the Square Golf’s advantage is depth: it sits beside the ball, so it does not need the 6-to-8-foot standoff a radar monitor wants behind you. That makes it the friendlier pick for a shallow garage. You still need a hitting area, a net or screen in front, and, for a full screen room, ceiling height for a driver swing (roughly 9 to 10 feet).
