SkyTrak+ (ST+): specs, price, and the availability problem

With that out of the way, here is what the unit actually is. The SkyTrak+ is a hybrid (dual doppler radar plus photometric camera) launch monitor listed at $1,995 sale price against a $2,995 list, and its product page names nine ball metrics and five club metrics. It works indoors and outdoors, runs four hours on a charge, and hangs its course play off a four-tier annual membership. Those are all published figures, and every one of them is linked to the page it came from below. We do not test gear ourselves.

This page exists because the searches have not caught up with the product line. People still look for “SkyTrak+” by name, and what they will find is a discontinued SKU, a certified pre-owned listing, and a successor with a different name at a different price. The spec sheet below is still the right reference for a used ST+, and the membership ladder still applies to it.

SkyTrak is one of the few manufacturers that publishes a bay size instead of leaving buyers to guess. Minimum 12 ft long, 10 ft wide, 9 ft net height. Recommended 15 ft long, 15 ft wide, 10 ft height. The minimum is what SkyTrak says the unit will work in; the recommended figure is what it says you should aim for.

Read those as two different setups rather than as a range. Twelve feet of length is enough for the unit, the mat and a net. Fifteen by fifteen with a ten-foot ceiling is a screen room you can share with a second person and still walk around. The width figure is the one people underestimate: ten feet is the floor, and a left-handed player sharing the bay pushes you toward the recommended fifteen.

SkyTrak’s own answer is the SKYTRAK ST MAX, listed at $1,695 on sale against the same $2,995 list the ST+ carried. On the spec sheet it reads as the same measurement approach with a rebuild around it: dual Doppler radar and photometric cameras, plus GOLFTEC Speed Training, a modular internal design and dual USB ports. If you wanted an ST+ for the hardware, that is the unit currently in stock.

SkyTrak also lists a certified pre-owned ST+ and a refurbished ST MAX. Those are the two routes to an ST+ style unit with a seller standing behind it, and they are worth checking before old retailer stock, because the membership ladder above applies either way. Whatever you buy, the annual course-play cost is the same decision.

Two alternatives sit either side of it on price. The Bushnell Launch Pro is the camera unit at $2,999.99, with its own subscription question.
